چکیده
A new general reflectance model for computer graphics is presented. The model is based on physical optics and describes specular, di-rectional diffuse, and uniform diffuse reflection by a surface. Thereflected light pattern depends on wavelength, incidence angle, twosurface roughness parameters. and surface refractive index. The for-mulation is self consistent in terms of polarization, surface rough-ness, maskin@hadowing, and energy. The model applies to a widerange of materials and surface finishes and provides a smooth tran-sition from diffuse-like to specular reflection as the wavelength andincidence angle are increased or the surface roughness is decreased. The model is analytic and suitable for Computer Graphics appli-cations. Predicted reflectance distributions compare favorably withexperiment. The model is applied to metallic, nonmetallic, and plas-tic materials, with smooth and rough surfaces. CR

متن کاملLecture Notes for Introduction to Decision Theory
12 Arrow's Impossibility Theorem 72 13 References 75 2 These are notes for a basic class in decision theory. The focus is on decision under risk and under uncertainty, with relatively little on social choice. The notes contain the mathematical material, including all the formal models and proofs that will be presented in class, but they do not contain the discussion of background, interpretatio...
متن کاملLecture Notes Asymptotics of Evolution Equations
These lecture notes are based on my course from the summer semester 2011 though there are some minor changes in the contents and the numbering. Since this course had only two hours per week, some of the following proofs were not given in the lectures. For these and previous lecture notes, I have received detailed comments and corrections from the students of my classes. I am glad to thank them ...
متن کاملApplied Dynamical Systems London Taught Course Centre , Lectures 6 – 10 From Deterministic Chaos to Deterministic Diffusion
These are easy-to-read lecture notes for a short first-year Ph.D. student course on Applied Dynamical Systems, given at the London Taught Course Centre in Spring 2008 and 2009. The full course consists of two parts, each covering five hours of lectures. The first part by David Arrowsmith is on Basic dynamical systems, intermittency and autocorrelation. The present notes cover only the second pa...
